CREATION // Nourish

Join us at BRAG for an exciting evening of collaboration, song, iconography, and food with CREATION artist Deborah Kelly!

Thursday 21 March, 6-8pm

On the eve of the autumn equinox, a time of balance and bounty, the gallery becomes CREATION’s temporary cathedral. Together, we will explore sustenance of mind, body and kin through ceremonial nourishment. Our table will be laden with cloth showing co-created characters by the people of Horsham, VIC, and delicate porcelain platters hand-built by ceramicist Carlos Gomes, bearing the eight icons.

We will be nourished by holy morsels developed by chef Richard Learmonth, using local produce grown in collaboration with Cathie Hale of 3 Veg Farm. We will taste ‘sweet water’ by Cosmo Brewing, with aromatics of sage, horehound and honey from the final harvest of the sentinel hives in the Port of Newcastle.

We will traverse the rhythm at the heart of CREATION led by Kit Spencer and local music legends Abby Smith, Sophie Jones, Ella Jamieson and Cindy Fox, supported by choir.

This participatory performance will explore sustenance of mind, body and kin through the central elements of CREATION: collaboration, song, iconography and food.
