THE ARTISTS OF HILL END

The Artists of Hill End 1947 to Present was initiated in 1994 in response to the major exhibition The Artists of Hill End – Art, Life and Landscape held at the Art Gallery of New South Wales in 1994and the subsequent development of the Hill End Artists in Residence Program. This focus collection, which encompasses three generations of artists who have lived and worked in Hill End, aims to highlight the connection between the landscape of the region, its history, and its powerful influence on the development of Australian painting.
