Birrunga Wiradyuri is a Wiradyuri artist who produces original narrative works of Wiradyuri Culture, history, spirituality and Lore. This exhibition focuses on aspects of Birrunga’s personal Songline, referencing geographic and historic sites across the Bathurst region as well as contemporary Cultural narratives relating to colonisation, leading up to and including the Bathurst War of 1824, through Muyulung. Birrunga is founder and principal artist of the multi-award winning Birrunga Gallery in Brisbane’s CBD, and participant in the Australia Council’s Inaugural National Custodianship Program. Birrunga consults closely with his Elders, Wiradyuri Traditional Owners from the Gunhigal Mayiny Wiradyuri Dyilang Enterprise, on matters of Culture and Lore, resulting in Ngurang Buwugarra-gu Gudhi-dha Murruway, Wiradyuri Ngaanha, Birrunga Wiradyuri, a Bathurst Regional Art Gallery exhibition.
