Artists in Residence

COVID-19 Response

Due to COVID-19, the majority of artists selected for 2020 Hill End AIR Program have been postponed to 2021.

Consequently, there will be no submissions in 2021. Applications for 2022 Hill End AIR Program will open in June 2021.

The Hill End Artists in Residence Program (Hill End AIR) began as a partnership between Bathurst Regional Council and curator Gavin Wilson in 1995. Since then the program has grown into one of Australia's most sought after residencies. The Hill End AIR Program allows contemporary Australian and international artists the chance to experience and respond to the historically charged landscape of Hill End.

Bathurst Regional Art Gallery encourages established and emerging artists, writers and curators to apply.

Successful applicants spend four weeks living and working in either Haefligers or Murrays Cottage.

Hill End AIR Program is a joint venture between Bathurst Regional Art Gallery and the Department of Environment & Climate Change (Parks Services Division).
