Artists in Residence

The NSW Department of Planning, Industry and Environment and the NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service are currently undertaking an open Expression of Interest (EOI) for Haefligers and Murrays Cottages leases.

Bathurst Regional Art Gallery (BRAG) hopes that the EOI process will be finalised by January 2022. BRAG will not be calling for applications for the 2022 Hill End Artists in Residence Program until the EOI process is complete.

Please sign up to the BRAG e-newsletter via the BRAG Website to ensure you receive information on when the next round of applications open.

The Hill End Artists in Residence Program (Hill End AIR) began as a partnership between Bathurst Regional Council and curator Gavin Wilson in 1995. Since then the program has grown into one of Australia's most sought after residencies. The Hill End AIR Program allows contemporary Australian and international artists the chance to experience and respond to the historically charged landscape of Hill End.

Bathurst Regional Art Gallery encourages established and emerging artists, writers and curators to apply.

Successful applicants spend four weeks living and working in either Haefligers or Murrays Cottage.

Hill End AIR Program is a joint venture between Bathurst Regional Art Gallery and the Department of Environment & Climate Change (Parks Services Division).
